BAE Systems San Diego Ship Repair recently received a $38.6 million contract for work on the destroyer USS Benfold.
The U.S. Navy announced the award. Work is expected to be complete by this time next year.
The deal is a modification to a previously awarded cost-plus-award-fee contract.
BAE Systems is a diversified defense contractor based in the United Kingdom. It reported total 2012 revenue of $29 billion. San Diego is also home to BAE Systems’ business that produces software to enhance satellite images.
