The Tech Coast Angels, the largest angel investor group in the nation with a chapter in San Diego, said it’s accepting applications for its upcoming Quick Pitch competition Sept. 26.

About 30 startups will be selected and put through a process to cull the field to the final 10 candidates, who will compete for $20,000 in prize money, the group said.

The program, the seventh annual event put on by TCA, is ideal for entrepreneurs looking to jump-start their ventures and for investors seeking to learn about the latest innovations in the region, TCA said.

Finalists who make the cut will make a two-minute pitch on their business to an expected audience of about 500 attendees and a panel of judges. The pitches are judged on investment potential and presentation quality. Winners are selected at the conclusion of the event.

The competition, which is held on the campus of Qualcomm Inc., is open to all entrepreneurs and companies based in southern California, and include those that either have revenue or don’t, with the focus on technology industries such as information technology, wireless, life sciences, action/sports, and energy.
