Websense Inc., the San Diego makers of Web filtering software, reported 2012 fourth quarter net income of $3.8 million, compared with net income of $10.4 million for the like quarter of 2011.
Revenue in the quarter came in at $91.7 million, down from $92.7 million for the like quarter of 2011.
For the full year, Websense said its net income was $18.3 million, down from $31 million in 2011.
Revenue for the year came in at $361.5 million, compared with $364.2 million in 2011.
The company also forecast its first quarter revenue to finish at $84 million to $87 million, and its diluted operating earnings per share at 15 to 19 cents.
For the full year Websense forecast its revenue finishing at $351 million to $361 million. Full year diluted operating earnings per share were forecast between 78 to 93 cents.
Investors reacted negatively to the news, and pushed shares of Websense, traded under WBSN on Nasdaq, down more than 10 percent Jan. 30 to $14.42. Its 52-week range is $12.70 to $22.15.
