EdgeWave Inc., a locally based technology security company, recently announced the launch of EdgeWave Social, a cloud-based social media security solution for businesses.
EdgeWave Social works with a company’s existing Internet security technology and allows a user to monitor and control social media policies, prevent publication of profanity and control information leaks and compliance regulations.
“Inappropriate behaviors on social media can damage a company’s reputation and cause irreparable damage to a corporate brand,” said Steve Brunetto, director of product management at EdgeWave. “EdgeWave Social can detect inappropriate behaviors such as sexual harassment, racial discrimination, bullying, profanity and violence and stop them from occurring.”
All social media activity is routed through the cloud-based technology and inspected to ensure that compliance is followed and company policy is enforced.
EdgeWave said all incidents are logged and saved, and available for reporting through the management interface.
The technology can be used for corporate accounts and employees’ personal accounts.
