Virginia Firm Buys JCI Metal ProductsThursday, January 3, 2013
JCI Metal Products Inc., a San Diego-based provider of maintenance, repair and overhaul services to the U.S. Navy, said it was acquired by affiliates of US Joiner, a Virginia company that provides marine and furniture solutions for government customers.
Terms of the sale weren’t disclosed.
US Joiner, which is based in Crozet, Va., also has an office in San Diego. The company has about 500 employees across the nation, it said.
JCI was acquired by JF Lehman & Co. in June 2011. Lehman, with offices in New York and Washington, D.C., is a middle market private equity firm focused on the maritime, defense and aerospace sectors.
Joe Mullen, US Joiner’s president, said the acquisition will allow the company to further establish its position in the U.S. Navy MRO market and expand its footprint in the Pacific.
Marcel Becker, one of the former owners of JCI, will continue to lead the JCI operations of US Joiner as its general manager, the companies said.
