National City Mile of Cars Board Names Its First Woman PresidentMonday, February 18, 2013
The National City Mile of Cars recently broke new ground in naming a woman as its board president.
Jenifer Ball, general manager of Ball Auto Center’s Acura franchise is the new president. Ball, 33, is the third generation in the Ball family to serve on the MOC board.
Her father, John, served as president from 1983-84, and her grandfather Dave Ball also was on MOC’s board in the 1980s.
“I have some big shoes to fill and very big expectations for myself as a third-generation Ball family member to serve on the board,” she said.
Jenifer Ball began working at her dad’s business in 2001 after graduating from the University of San Diego. Over the years, she’s worked in customer service, parts and service departments.
All nine dealerships in the Mile of Cars are family-owned, and while they are competitors, the dealers work together on such mutually beneficial issues as advertising, legislative concerns and charitable giving, the organization said.
More than 20,000 vehicles were sold on the Mile in 2012, the group said.
