Former Ranking HP Exec Named to Harris Corp. Board of Directors

Harris Corp., the Florida-based defense and communications contractor, named Vyomesh Joshi to its board of directors.

Joshi, who goes by the nickname "VJ", is well-known in San Diego. He led Hewlett-Packard Co.’s computer printer business and kept an office at the company campus in Rancho Bernardo. Joshi rose from engineer to a top manager and retired from HP in 2012 after 32 years.

Harris reports annual revenue of about $5 billion and has roughly 14,000 employees. It ranks 429th on Fortune Magazine’s list of 500 largest publicly traded companies. Shares trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol HRS.

Joshi, 59, is also a director of Wipro Ltd. and served as a director of Yahoo Inc. from 2005 to 2012.
