The U.S. Air Force awarded General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. a contract worth tens of millions of dollars to extend the range of its Reaper remotely piloted aircraft.
The contract is not to exceed $26.2 million and will be good for two years.
Work will be done in Poway.
The contract specifies that work will be done on Block 1 Reaper aircraft. The Reaper, sometimes called Predator B, is a heavier variant of GA-ASI’s original Predator.
