Training Organization Buys Kearny Mesa Building for $8.15M

Thursday, August 1, 2013

An industrial building at 7650 Convoy Court in Kearny Mesa has been purchased by the Los Angeles-based Apprentice & Journeymen Training Trust Fund, for $8.15 million.

The seller was a joint venture including Cruzan Monroe of Del Mar and AEW Capital Management LP of Boston, according to a statement from brokerage firm CBRE, which represented the buyer and seller.

The buyer plans to use the building for its regional offices and a training center for its Southern California operations. The Apprentice & Journeyman organization operates training programs in various trades — such as plumbing, pipefitting and welding — at locations throughout California, according to its website.

The 48,611-square-foot Kearny Mesa building was constructed in 1971. Cruzan Monroe acquired the property in 2010 and completed an extensive interior and exterior renovation.
