L-3 Communications Holdings Inc. recently received a $10.5 million contract for two-way radios and accessories, according to the U.S. Defense Department. The radios, model RT-1606, are a product of L-3 Telemetry West in Kearny Mesa.

The Pentagon is handling the foreign military sales contract for Egypt. The U.S. Army Contracting Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md., awarded the contract. One bid was solicited and one bid was received.

L-3, based in New York City, had 2012 sales of $13.1 billion.
