San Diego-based real estate services firm Douglas Wilson Cos. has sold off the J.E. Higgins Lumber facility in Livermore for $5.1 million, after liquidating the company’s assets.
A company statement said Chairman and CEO Douglas P. Wilson was named in 2012 as court-appointed receiver to oversee interim operations and liquidation of the 125-year-old lumber company, which supplies construction-related hardwood, flooring and window framing products.
The 71,680-square-foot facility was sold to Mission Trading Co. of Livermore, represented by brokerage firm Lee & Associates. Wilson Cos. was represented by Colliers International.
The lumber facility was the second large industrial property in the J.E. Higgins portfolio sold by the receiver. Douglas Wilson Cos. also recently engaged Woodland Hills-based Great American Group to complete the liquidation of the lumber company’s various other assets, the statement said.
