Imaging Healthcare Specialists Medical Group Inc. is reopening a state-of-the-art medical imaging center in Encinitas.
The facility at 477 N. El Camino Real, Suite A102, was transformed to combine all services and modalities in one location. Upgraded features include magnetic resonance imaging equipment; a PET/CT camera offering high-definition 2-D and 3-D images for brain, bone and oncology imaging; and computed tomography equipment that offers image quality, exam speed, and reduced radiation dose.
Imaging Healthcare Specialists’ investment in the upgrades was not immediately available.
Imaging Healthcare Specialists is a full-service outpatient medical imaging center company offering specialized imaging services, with 10 locations throughout San Diego County and southern Riverside County.
“With Imaging Healthcare Specialists serving Encinitas and its surrounding communities since 1986, our goal was to provide the convenience of having all modalities in one full-service location while creating a warm environment for patients,” said Thomas D. Cleary, the group’s president and chief operating officer.
A grand reopening event set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 29 offers attendees the opportunity to tour the newly renovated facility. Participating physicians include John Johnson, low dose imaging; Rowena Tena, breast imaging; Mark Schechter, PET/CT imaging; and James Cooper, sports imaging. Attractions include an appearance by former Chargers placekicker John Carney; a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Encinitas Mayor Jerome Stocks; and a raffle benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
