Florida-based Darden Restaurants has opened a new Red Lobster seafood restaurant in Chula Vista, the company’s fifth location in San Diego County.
A company statement said the 5,900-square-foot restaurant at 598 H Street employs approximately 115 and can accommodate 212 guests.
The restaurant’s design features the national chain’s nautical, New England coast décor. There are sustainable design elements, including recycled building materials, LED lighting, low-water landscaping, energy-efficient equipment and enlarged windows to boost availability of natural sunlight.
Red Lobster has appointed La Mesa resident Wendy Gassaway as general manager of the new Chula Vista restaurant, the statement said.
