ViaSat Inc., the Carlsbad maker of satellite equipment, said it recently received orders of more than $11 million for joint IP Modem Network control centers, and other equipment.
The contracts allow the U.S. Department of Defense to complete its roll out of interoperable network services to warfighters from teleports and strategic tactical entry points, the company said.
The objective of the government Joint IP Modem program is to create warfighter/service network interoperability, promote satellite bandwidth efficiency and enable disparate network convergence, ViaSat said.
