Operators of Rancho Valencia Resort and Spa have completed a $30 million renovation of the Rancho Santa Fe property. The luxury resort on Oct. 26 is scheduled to officially reopen, with new elements including a signature restaurant, known as Veladora, and a polo-themed bar and restaurant called The Pony Room.
Work began in January, with changes including a new conference room, a remodeled ballroom and boardroom, and an enhanced patio for social functions and corporate meetings. Suites have been remodeled, and the property has also added a yoga pavilion, Pilates studio and expanded workout facilities, according to a statement.
Locally based Rancho Valencia Partners acquired the resort in May 2010 for $15.5 million. The owners include former Qualcomm Inc. executives Jeff and Hal Jacobs, Fiji Water co-founder Doug Carlson, and real estate developer Jeffrey Essakow.
Rancho Valencia was developed and opened in 1989 by previous owner Harry Collins, and was last renovated in 2006. The 49-room property sits on 45 acres at 5921 Valencia Circle.
