Cubic Delivers Training Gear to JordanWednesday, May 30, 2012
Cubic Corp. said recently that it has wrapped up delivery of a mobile combat training center to the country of Jordan. The deal was worth $17 million.
The sale includes the Cubic system that converts a soldier’s gun into an eye-safe laser device suitable for military training. Cubic calls its system MILES, short for Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System. Also included are vehicle instruments.
In addition, Cubic delivered an exercise control center and an after action review center, both housed in trailers, which will allow the customer to take the system to multiple training ranges around the country.
The system allows its user to record training exercises then review them afterwards.
The U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation, based in Orlando, Fla., handled the foreign military sales contract.
Cubic reported $1.29 billion in sales in its 2011 fiscal year, up from $1.19 billion in fiscal 2010. Its shares trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol CUB.
The CIA World Fact Book describes Jordan as a country of 6.5 million people that is roughly the size of Indiana. It is bounded by Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Israel.
