Legend3D Inc., the Carmel Valley based film conversion studio, said May 14 it launched a new division called Stereo Works that leverages its proprietary technologies involving the conversion of two dimensional movies to three dimensional.
The business headed by Legend3D’s founder Barry Sandrew’s son, Jared, provides a wealth of stereoscopic services for feature films, the company said.
The division is wrapping up its first major studio assignment for a 3-D release early this summer, but didn’t disclose the name of the film.
The new division, which has 60 employees, is being financed partially through a $19 million Series E stock offering conducted last year, the company said.
