NTN Buzztime Posts Net Loss on Higher Revenue

NTN Buzztime Inc. saw revenue rise 1 percent from a year ago for its first quarter ending March 31, reaching $6.1 million. The Carlsbad-based provider of networked games played at bars and restaurants said May 10 that much of the increase resulted from the Stump! Trivia business, which it acquired in October.

A company statement said NTN Buzztime posted a net loss for the quarter of $1 million, compared with a net loss of $600,000 in the same period a year ago.

The company ended the first quarter with 3,868 subscribing venues for its services, compared with 3,888 at the end of March 2011.
