Salvatore Ferragamo will open its first San Diego boutique in April at Fashion Valley mall, the Italian luxury fashion retailer announced Feb. 23.

The Mission Valley store will showcase the brand’s high-end ready-to-wear women’s and men’s apparel, as well as shoes, handbags, luggage, eyewear and other accessories, according to a statement. The store will be located on the mall’s first level, adjacent to Bloomingdale’s.

“The San Diego market is an important region for the network of national Ferragamo boutiques,” said Vincent Ottomanelli, president of Ferragamo USA.

The store will deploy a new LED lighting design that uses energy efficiently and provides customers with a “true color rendition” of product offerings, the statement said.

Ferragamo USA is part of Florence-based Salvatore Ferragamo Group, which has 578 stores worldwide. The retailer has an outlet store at Carlsbad Premium Outlets, and its products are sold at the Fashion Valley Bloomingdale’s.

It is the latest of several international luxury retailers recently opening or announcing upcoming store debuts at Fashion Valley, including Italian luxury goods seller Giorgio Armani Group and Spanish fashion retailer Zara.
