Scripps Acquires Building to Relocate Coastal Center

Monday, February 6, 2012

Locally based Scripps Health has purchased a 33,500-square-foot medical office building in Oceanside for its Scripps Coastal Medical Center.

The building at 4318 Mission Ave., near state Route 76, will replace the health care provider’s current coastal facility on Mission Avenue, according to a Scripps statement. Financial terms of the purchase were not disclosed.

Scripps officials said the new building is nearly twice the size of the original medical center, providing more parking, easier accessibility and the latest wireless technology. The new site initially will house the 10 Scripps doctors and 40 staff from the existing medical center, expanding to a total of 20 physicians in the future.

The transition process from the existing site will take place during the next several months, with plans to fully open in July 2012. Current patients are being notified of the change, the statement said.
