Ad-Supported Free Wi-Fi Now Available at AirportWednesday, December 19, 2012
Florida-based Advanced Wireless Group LLC has received a one-year contract to provide wireless Internet services (Wi-Fi) to travelers at San Diego International Airport. The ad-supported service is now available free to users.
Travelers can use the service at no charge for up to 45 minutes, after watching a brief sponsored message, according to a statement from Advanced Wireless. A timer on the Web portal alerts users when sessions are about to expire, in which case users can view another advertisement to receive another free session.
Roaming services are available for travelers who have acquired a wireless subscription through an outside provider, the company said.
Advanced Wireless Group, with headquarters in Doral, Fla., specializes in services to airports and other large venues.
