Rhino Linings Corp., a privately held San Diego business that provides sprayed and rolled polyurethane for trucks and other uses, said it acquired BioBased Insulation, a division of Springdale, Ariz.-based BioBased Technologies LLC, for an undisclosed price.

At the same time BioBased Technologies is buying Soyol polyol and related technology assets from Rhino Linings, with no transaction price disclosed.

Rhino said its acquisition of BioBased Insulation is the second one it has done this year in the soy system business. Earlier it acquired the Soyol polyol technology from Urethane Soy Systems Co.

“This acquisition strengthens our commitment to be one of the leading spray system providers by expanding our current product line and offering the best products available,” said CEO Pierre Gagnon.

Rhino Linings was founded in 1988 and provides its coatings for industrial, residential and municipal applications. The company has a global retail and industrial applicator network of about 1,400 independent businesses in 80 countries.
