The board of trustees for the San Diego Community College District recently approved extending the contract of its chancellor, Constance Carroll, for another four years through June 2016.
Carroll, who oversees a district that encompasses San Diego City College, Mesa College and Miramar College, requested that she not receive a pay increase for the fourth consecutive year, opting to be governed by the same collective bargaining salary caps that apply to faculty and staff members, the district said.
Carroll is paid nearly $268,000 annually.
Trustee Mary Graham, who chaired the chancellor’s evaluation committee, noted Carroll’s efforts to ensure the district remains fiscally stable, adding that it continues to earn top ratings from Standard & Poor’s and Moody’s for its prudent financial management practices.
“The board could not be more pleased and grateful for Chancellor Carroll’s leadership of the district and her contributions to the community,” Graham said.
