Jay Goldstone, chief operating officer for the city of San Diego, was named as chairman of the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board for a one-year term, the organization said.
Goldstone has served on MSRB’s board since 2010 and spent his career in municipal government in financial and executive capacities. Before being named as the city’s COO, he was the city’s chief financial officer.
He was also the director of finance for the city of Pasadena, manager of finance for Maricopa County in Arizona, and interim city manager for the city of Richmond.
The MSRB board establishes policies, approves rule making and market transparency initiatives, and oversees operations of the MSRB, the self-regulatory organization for the municipal securities market.
