Kratos Defense & Security Solutions Inc. said April 23 that it is part of a team led by Massachusetts-based Dynamics Research Corp. that will compete for engineering jobs for the U.S. Air Force under a five-year contract vehicle.

Dynamics Research said it is one of 26 prime contractors that will vie for up to $1.9 billion of work from the Air Force Materiel Command under the multiple-award, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract. The contract goes by the name Design and Engineering Support Program III, aka DESP III.

Dynamics Research Corp. has its home base in Andover, Mass. It had 2011 revenue of $323 million and its stock trades on Nasdaq under the symbol DRCO.

Kratos trades on Nasdaq as KTOS and had revenue of $723 million in 2011.
