The first of three new Wingstop restaurants planned for the San Diego region opened April 4 at 932 Highland Ave. in National City.
A statement from Texas-based Wingstop Restaurant Corp. said two others will open in coming weeks in San Diego — at 1995 El Cajon Blvd. and 4403 University Ave. The franchisees of the San Diego locations are Jose Valencia, Nick Lorenz and Nichole Drake.
The National City opening stems from a development agreement with new local franchisee Woody DeMayo, who will be opening three more locations in the area over the next several years, the statement said.
Based in Richardson, Texas, Wingstop features chicken wings in 10 flavors. The company has more than 500 restaurants in the U.S. and Mexico, including five currently operating in San Diego County.
