San Diego North Chamber Gets Three-Star Accreditation

Monday, November 7, 2011

The San Diego North Chamber of Commerce has received national accreditation, the organization announced Nov. 2.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce awarded the local organization three-star accreditation. The Washington, D.C.-based U.S. Chamber said the move recognizes sound policies, effective organizational procedures and a positive impact on the community.

Roughly 230 of the nation’s 7,000 chambers are accredited, according to the national organization.

Angelo Damante, founder of Mercedes-Benz of Escondido and the local chamber’s chairman, called the move an honor. “For us, accreditation validates the accomplishments we have made over the past two years,” Damante said, in a statement.

The San Diego North Chamber, based in Rancho Bernardo, represents more than 850 businesses and 150,000 employees.
