Convention center and Port of San Diego officials have scheduled two public meetings, where residents and businesses can give input on a proposed $700 million expansion of the San Diego Convention Center.
The gatherings are slated for July 14, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront hotel, at 1 Park Blvd.; and July 16, from 10 a.m. to noon at the convention center, 111 W. Harbor Drive.
A statement from the San Diego Convention Center Corp., which operates the facility, said the gatherings will primarily examine public access, view corridors, and program and design matters related to a planned rooftop public space.
Design team representatives from Fentress Architects and Civitas Inc., along with convention center and port district representatives, will gather feedback and present available details on the planning process.
City and port officials are finalizing financing arrangements for a project that would add more than 400,000 square feet of space to the convention center.
