Cubic Buys Business That Tracks Vehicles, Containers

Cubic Corp. said May 18 that it acquired the assets of Impeva Labs Inc., a Mountain View-based provider of asset management and security software, for an undisclosed price.

Cubic said it is creating a new subsidiary called Cubic Global Tracking Solutions Inc. to build upon Impeva’s current military and civilian contracts and grow the business globally. Cubic’s three main segments are Defense Systems, Mission Support Services and Transportation Systems.

In addition to its tracking technology, which is deployed by the U.S. military in the Middle East and Asia, the company supplies smart devices for dry containers, refrigerated containers and trucks, and provides continuous monitoring without fixed infrastructure, Cubic said.

Founded in 2004, Impeva has about 35 employees, and offices in Florida and Armenia.
