Raytheon Gets $15M Shipboard Computer Deal

The Pentagon said Dec. 23 that it awarded a $14.9 million contract to Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems of San Diego. The fixed-price contract provides three Ship Self Defense System MK2 Open Architecture Computing Environment kits. The kits will be installed on the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, a Norfolk, Va.-based aircraft carrier; the USS New Orleans, one of the first of the new class of amphibious transport ships, based in San Diego; and the Self Defense Test Ship. Half the work will be performed in San Diego and half in Rhode Island.
