Siggraph Swoops Into Convention Center in August

Siggraph 2007, the 34th annual showcase for computer graphics and interactive technology, is set to come to the San Diego Convention Center from Aug. 5-9.

The conference will feature the latest in computer graphics, interactive techniques, gaming, digital art, science, animation and technology from filmmakers, research scientists, video game developers, artists and technology pioneers.

The technology being showcased at the event includes interactive robots that can develop relationships with humans and each other, virtual reality systems and technology that allows drivers to see through car doors.

The public is free to register for both the event’s five-day conference and a three-day exhibition, which begins Aug. 7.

Siggraph stands for Special Interest Group on Graphics and Interactive Techniques, an organization operated by the New York-based Association for Computing Machinery.

This is the second time San Diego has hosted the event. The city was home to the 2003 conference.
