State Senators Set Hearing in San Diego

State Sens. Denise Ducheny, D-San Diego, Christine Kehoe, D-San Diego, and Liz Figueroa, D-Fremont, on Feb. 3 will conduct the first in a series of hearings to find out how the public thinks government should be run.

The first hearing of the Committee on Government Modernization, Efficiency and Accountability, “First Principles: What Should Government Do?” is scheduled for 1-5 p.m. at the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice at the University of San Diego.

The committee, chaired by Figueroa, will hear presentations from Larry Solum, University of San Diego School of Law; Wallace Walrod, vice president of the Orange County Business Council; Bob Fellmeth, Children’s Advocacy Institute; Ted Lempert, Children Now; and Christine Minnehan, Western Center on Law and Poverty.

The public is invited to testify.
