Lemon Grove Mayor Named to Airport Authority

The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority board of directors has another new member.

East County mayors appointed Lemon Grove Mayor Mary Teresa Sessom to a two-year term.

The airport authority is charged with finding a new commercial location for Lindbergh Field.

Sessom was elected mayor of Lemon Grove in 1996. She was re-elected in March 2000.

Sessom teaches at Cuyamaca Community College.

She spent 20 years as a lawyer and served as a judge pro tem of the San Diego Superior Court from 1990 to 1991.

Factory 2-U Posts 3rd Quarter Loss

Factory 2-U Stores, Inc. announced that its sales were down in its third quarter, which ended in November.

Net sales for the quarter decreased to $134.5 million, from $145.6 million for the same period last year, a drop of 7.6 percent. Net sales for the three fiscal quarters ending in November also fell 7.6 percent, from $410.6 million last year to $379.5 million this year, said James White, a Factory 2-U spokesman.

Comparable store sales for the third quarter decreased 5.6 percent, as opposed to a decrease of 10.5 percent for the same period last year.
