Nothing to do on Valentine’s Day?
Try sipping good wine and watching the sunset while having dinner for two on this special day.
During the month of February, the Pacifica Del Mar restaurant will be pouring private labeled Santaluz wine, with 50 percent of all sales going directly to the Make-a-Wish Foundation of San Diego, an organization that grants wishes to disabled children or those with serious illnesses.
“(A wine donation) is an interactive opportunity for patrons of Pacifica Del Mar Restaurant and our Santaluz team to make a contribution to Make-A-Wish Foundation,” said David Kovach, managing director of Santaluz, the new 4,000-acre coastal village in the San Dieguito Valley. “And by private labeling the wine with our logo and Web address, we’re introducing ourselves to residents of the region, who are our future neighbors.”
Santaluz wines being poured include a 1996 Mendocino County Cabernet Sauvignon, Gold Medal winner of the 2000 Monterey Wine Competition; and a 1998 Alexander Valley Chardonnay, winner of the 2000 New World International Wine Competition.
Pacifica Del Mar, located on the ocean-view deck of the Del Mar Plaza, features a menu of seafood cuisine created by chef Chris Idso.
