RA Sushi’s weeklong program, Nicky’s Week, benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, raised more than $102,000.

RA Sushi’s downtown San Diego location raised $5,700 toward the companywide total.

The money raised will pay for the development of treatment and cures for diseases such as brain tumors, leukemia, childhood HIV and other life-threatening illnesses in children.

Prato Cleaners honored the military during the recent Fourth of July celebrations.

Prato Cleaners, located in the Gaslamp Quarter, dry-cleaned military uniforms, including veteran and retired garments, for free during the week of July 1-7.

“We just want to show our support for the troops to the best of our capacity during our nation’s celebration of independence,” Federico Leff, director of operations for Prato Cleaners.

Eset, a global provider of security software, has donated 500 NOD23 Antivirus software licenses that will provide a full year of comprehensive protection from computer malware for Operation Homefront military families in San Diego.

Eset’s donation is part of Operation Homefront’s technology initiative to ensure military families remain in close communication with their deployed relatives.
