Aplus.Net, a San Diego-based company offering Web hosting, Web design and related services, said Dec. 5 that it was acquired by Catalyst Investors, a New York-based private equity fund, for an undisclosed price.
The company that was founded by Ivan and Lilian Vachovsky in 1995 had 300 employees and offices in Sacramento, Phoenix, Sofia, Bulgaria, and Manila, the Philippines. Ivan Vachovsky revealed last year that annual revenue was about $20 million.
Industry veteran Gabriel Murphy is a co-investor with Catalyst in the company and serves as chief executive. The Vachovskys will retain an ownership stake that wasn’t quantified, and Ivan Vachovsky will serve on the firm’s board of directors.
Murphy co-founded CommuniTech.Net in 1997 and sold it to Web.com in 2002, according to a press statement.
