Red Door Ranks High on Inner City List

Red Door Interactive is one of the fastest growing inner city companies in America, according to a survey released May 21 by the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City, the nonprofit that publishes the annual Inner City 100 list.

The downtown San Diego company ranked No. 4 in the nation among the fastest growing 100 urban companies.

Red Door handles creative and technical tasks that go into maintaining a Web site, and the strategic thinking behind Web campaigns.

Red Door Interactive, which has regional offices in Denver, is headquartered in the East Village area’s DiamondView Tower overlooking Petco Park. The company has seen double-digit growth each year, says President Reid Carr.

Red Door manages the Internet presence for clients such as Overstock.com, Cricket Communications, Rubio’s Restaurants and Garden Fresh Corp.

The 2009 Inner City 100 winners grew at a compound annual growth rate of 40 percent and an average rate of 324 percent between 2003 and 2007.

Harvard Business School Professor Michael Porter formed the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City in 1994.
