Oceanside: Web Site Is a Fresh Recycling Resource

North County’s business and residential communities now have access to a new Web site filled with information on waste disposal, recycling, community events and other local service offerings.

The site — http://northcounty.wm.com — was launched Nov. 17 by Waste Management of North County and Coast Waste Management.

The new site provides service information for commercial, residential and recycling customers; environmental fact sheets with suggestions on how to reduce, reuse and recycle waste; postings for special events and a press room; and a children’s section.

Waste Management of North County and Coast Waste Management serve Oceanside, Solana Beach, Del Mar, Carlsbad, Camp Pendleton, Rancho Santa Fe and Valley Center, and portions of Escondido and Fallbrook.

“We also want to create a resource for others who may not reside in a city serviced by Waste Management, but who are looking for information on environmental topics,” said Ken Ryan, district manager. “The region is full of many active communities, and it is important that residents are able to have complete access to timely, targeted information through the Internet.”

There has not been a strong voice or presence in the nation’s capital to represent these innovators, who neither have the money nor bandwidth to lobby or educate representatives on their needs and interests — until now.
